Dynamic Monte-Carlo and mean-"eld study of the e!ect of strong adsorption sites on self-di!usion in zeolites

چکیده
Self-di!usion in zeolites is studied using a simple mean-"eld theory and dynamic Monte-Carlo simulations of di!usion on a lattice model of the zeolite pore space. Our method is powerful, because of its simplicity, #exibility and ability to study the in#uence of various factors: the topology of the pore network, the fraction of strong adsorption sites, the relative strengths of weak and strong sites, the number of sites per zeolite cage, and the ratio of intracage to extracage hopping probabilities. Notwithstanding the simplicity of the modeling, our results con"rm the qualitative trends observed in pulsed-"eld gradient NMR experiments, and are able to explain them. For ZSM-5, we also found a new possible type of functional dependency of the di!usivity on occupancy, with two inclination points. ( 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

Characterization of Carbon Nanotube (CNT) in Adsorption Gas: Monte Carlo and Langevin Dynamic Simulation
Nanostructures have considerably higher surface areas than their bulk counterparts; thereforesurfaces often play important, sometimes even dominant, roles in the nanostructure properties. Thenanocrystalline and nanotubes have low band gaps and high carrier mobility, thus offeringappealing potential as absorption gas. Interaction between methanol molecules and carbonnanotube is investigated usin...
متن کاملKinetic Monte Carlo Study of Binary Diffusion in MFI-Type Zeolite
1. Introduction Separation induced by kinetic effects has been investigated, using zeolites as a shape selective adsorbent [1]. The control of diffusion process, requiring a precise knowledge of self-, transport and corrected diffusivities (D self , D t and D C , respectively) of molecules inside the nanoporous material, is essential for the design of industrial applications. In the case of str...

متن کاملAbstract—Monte Carlo simulations were employed to gain insight on HCN adsorption mechanism on LTA zeolites with different alkali metal cations,
Monte Carlo simulations were employed to gain insight on HCN adsorption mechanism on LTA zeolites with different alkali metal cations, Li, Na, and K. Adsorption isotherms were calculated at four different temperatures at and above the normal boiling point of HCN. Results show that adsorption capacity depends on the type of the extraframework cation and Li-LTA showed the highest HCN adsorption c...
متن کاملA Molecular Simulation of Natural Gas Dehydration by 3A Zeolite Nanostructure
The adsorption and separation properties of 3A zeolite are investigated by using Grand Canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulation. To obtain the adsorption isotherms of water, methyl mercaptan, and methane on 3A zeolite, COMPASS Force Filed is used. The adsorption isotherms of the pure components and the ternary mixtures of water, methyl mercaptan, and methane on 3A zeolites are calculated. The Si...
